I got a free audiobook and later noticed a charge. I called them too ask for a refund and to cancel my membership.
I to told I would get the refund. The next month I was charged the membership fee. I call to ask for a refund, cancellation and confirmation email. I never got the refund or email.
I just called again and cancelled again. This time I got a confirmation email.
But I don't trust them so I changed my payment credit card to a expired one and deleted my active card. Hope it works, they are crooked.
